Our Story
Emily Wilkins, MSN, APN-BC
Emily is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Miami. After graduating, Emily worked in the Brain and Behavior Laboratory in the Neuropsychiatry section at University of Pennsylvania where she researched identifiable risk factors for the development of psychiatric illnesses in children and adolescents. Working closely with children and their families affected by a wide range of mental health disorders led Emily to pursue her education at Drexel University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Emily continued her nursing career, working with children, adolescents and adults in inpatient psychiatric settings, as well as residential long-term care facilities. Emily later returned to Drexel University and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing. Emily worked in a psychiatry outpatient setting prior to starting Nurture Psychiatry with her husband Alaukik.
Dr. Alaukik Bhasin, D.O.
Alaukik is a fellowship trained child and adolescent psychiatrist and board certified in adult psychiatry. Alaukik graduated from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He then completed residency at Rowan University in New Jersey and further specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry. Alaukik has worked as an attending in various psychiatric settings, including consult liaison, emergency psychiatry, acute and intermediate care, inpatient, and outpatient care.
As a wife and husband duo with experience working in a variety of mental health care settings, we have the unique opportunity to utilize our collective knowledge and collaborate as a team. We started Nurture Psychiatry together in order to provide comprehensive, compassionate care and to aid individuals in the realization of their agency.
